Cocktails, relaxation and business in the heart of London!

12 Hay Hill is a luxury members-only business club in London’s Mayfair.  Attracting many finance and hedge fund managers, it offers an inviting space for all members and is particularly keen on welcoming creative business professionals.  Unlike some clubs, its high-specification facilities provide plenty of room to work in or to relax with a drink.

    Facilities

There are three floors of luxury-serviced offices.  Features include three business lounges, a terrace overlooking Berkeley Square and 12 meeting rooms.

Launched four years ago, the club has been with its current ownership for the last two years.  There are three tiers of membership with offices separately available for hire on a yearly contract.  Members can bring up to three guests and office contracts include full club access.

    Food and drink

Open from 7am to 11pm, an important feature of the club is the basement bar.  This relaxing space boasts an innovative drinks menu with a focus on ten specially designed cocktails.  These change every six months and the current selection offers plenty of choice to suit all tastes.  Members can, of course, choose classic cocktails if they prefer.  Additionally, food is available all day, including breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

    Cocktail focus

Created by bar manager Tomas Cisty, the cocktail menu is mainly a twist on the classics.  The current theme of the list is ‘Market, Trade & Transport’.  It takes inspiration from the East India Company (EIC) and uses tea, coffee and spices among its varied ingredients.  At a recent event, Tomas guided members of the trade and press through his cocktails with three in particular standing out.

    Innovative cocktails

    Cocktail

    Bubbleissues Cocktail

Starting with Bubbleissues, this refreshing blend of Barsol Quebranta Pisco, Molmenti & Celot Prosecco, jasmine and green tea cordial, garnished with matcha and finger limes caviar, proved very popular.

    Before U Coco!!! Cocktail

Another particularly impressive cocktail was Before U Coco!!!, a classy mix of Cornish Dead Man’s Fingers Coconut Rum, Bordeaux Distilling Co. cold brew coffee liqueur, star anise and espresso.

    Cocktail

    Penny-Ceiling Cocktail

Penny-Ceiling (get it?!), the final flourish for a drinks correspondent with a touch of man-flu, was the perfect end!  Tasting infinitely better than its medicinal counterpart, this fresh blend of Compass Box Great King Street and Laphroaig 10-year old whiskies, honey, fresh ginger, lemon juice and soda was the perfect send-off.

    Spirits

The spirits list is extensive with a high quality choice of vodka, gin, whisky, rum, brandy and agave on the list.  Beers, ciders, Kombucha, juices and other soft drinks are available too.  “The spirit selection is designed to satisfy everyone“, describes Tomas.  “That’s why [our list] is organised in categories to hit every corner of the flavour spectrum.  In each category, there’s at least one member choice (a well-known brand) and one bartender choice (a small brand with great value).

Many of the spirits have also been chosen to suit the EIC theme of the cocktail menu, as Tomas explains:-

    • Wrecking Coast Clotted Cream Gin – “We chose this specific gin for its unique flavour of clotted cream, so it’s the perfect accompaniment to our tea-based take on the Vesper Martini.”
    • Dead Man’s Fingers Hemp Rum – “We selected this unique rum because it’s the only one on the market to contain CBD oil.  Therefore, it reflects the opiate trade of the EIC.
    • Kavka Vodka -“This vodka dates back to the 18th century.  Its richness and depth makes it the perfect base for the heady flavours of saffron.
    • Lanique Spirit of Rose – “This spectacular rose spirit is made from the Attar Rose, which is worth more than gold!  Its taste of the Far East makes it ideal for our EIC themed menu.

So if you’re looking for a luxury members club in London with facilities for relaxation or work and an inspired bar menu, then 12 Hay Hill is the ideal venue.  You can request a tour, email their membership team or call them on +44 (0)207 952 6000 to find out more.
